Types of rope

Dynamic ropes Ropes that can stop a free fall in climbing or scrambling, and can reduce the impact force.

Single ropes

To be used as a single rope.

Double ropes

To be used as a double rope, using karabiners alternately.

Twin ropes

To be used as a twin and parallel rope, using karabiners with the two together.
Low stretch ropes (Semi-static) Ropes designed for use in rope access, all types of securing and restraint in vertical works, and in caving and rescue operations.

Type "A" ropes

For use in caving, in rescue operations, in access operations by rope and as a safety line in vertical work, providing user body weight does not exceed 100 kg.

Type "B" ropes

Ropes with a smaller diameter and lower resistance than type A ropes. Their use is limited to descents.
Webbings and auxiliary ropes 4-8-mm webbings and auxiliary ropes are made to hold loads, but not to absorb energy.
Static ropes Mainly employed in the construction of fixed rope-ways and rope bridges. Due to their low stretching coefficient, they are unable to absorb energy and are therefore not suitable for securing people (ropes not considerate as PPI).
